A cosy little group of food enthusiasts met on a bright sunny day to learn about cooking and to spend time with one another. 15 people, including children, made themselves comfortable in Jackie’s home.

Ling Yee Bauer, who teaches Chinese cooking in the Volkshochschule, conjured up two delicious dishes, the preparation of which, much to our astonishment, was quite simple – salted chicken and pot stickers. Nelly Taylor, a very creative and talented hobby cook, showed us how to cook Eggplant Lamb curry and Duck in Chow Mein sauce.

After the hard work of learning how to cook so many new dishes, everyone was rewarded with the most delicious meal ever - with fresh longans for dessert.
